Bloody End To Woodside Wrangle

What started as an apparent dispute between three people at a Woodside location on Sunday night, Feb. 19, came to a bloody end when an 18-year-old man was knifed by one of the combatants, police reported.

Law enforcement sources said the trouble began at around 7:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Skillman Avenue and 52nd Street.

Reportedly, the 18-year-old male was involved in an argument with a male and a female. The dispute quickly turned violent, authorities said, when the male attacker took out a knife and stabbed the 18-year-old male in the thigh.

The suspect then fled from the scene, it was reported.

Members of the 108th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The 18-year-old male was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were not considered to be life-threatening.

Police canvassed the area in search of the suspect but no immediate arrests were made, it was noted.

The case has been presented to the 108th Precinct Detective Squad for further investigation, law enforcement sources said.
