Woman who allegedly stalked Yankees GM Cashman arrested
A Manhattan woman with a long history of harassment and trespassing was held on $200,000 bail last night for allegedly stalking and shaking down Yankees general manager Brian Cashman. Louise Neathway, 35, who also goes by the last name Meanwell, claimed in an interview with a sports website that she was having an affair with the married GM. “The defendant extorted $6,000 from the victim and attempted to extort more than $15,000,” prosecutor Eric Iverson said. She told him that she needed the money for an unspecified medical procedure and that if he didn’t pay, she “would contact the press and informant’s family and assert facts that would subject [him] to ridicule and damage his personal relationships and professional reputation,” the criminal complaint says. Some thought the reaction to Tom Brady’s bigger party speech at a Gillette Stadium pep rally on Sunday was overblown, but Tom Coughlin clearly took notice. NYPD Investigates Officer’s Fatal Shooting Of Bronx Drug Suspect
Family members are demanding answers after police shot an killed an 18-year-old drug suspect who was apparently unarmed. The shooting happened around 3 p.m. in a building on 229th Street in Wakefield. Police say officers investigating street corner drug dealing approached 18-year-old Ramarley Graham who then took off on foot. An officer chased him into his second-floor apartment where they struggled in a bathroom. The officer fired one shot, hitting Graham in the chest. Boy, 6, dies after taking methadone
A six-year-old Bronx boy died after he was fed a dose of methadone and the boy’s mother is now under arrest, cops said. Raquel DeLeon, 36, hid her methadone inside a DayQuil bottle in their apartment on E. 147th Street in the South Bronx. On Saturday, when Carlos Rios Jr. felll ill, his father gave him a teaspoon of the liquid, believing it was cough medicine, police said. Soon after administering the dose, the boy complained of dizziness. The father told the boy to lie down but became concerned after his son became unresponsive. Read More: New York Post

The Susan G. Komen breast cancer charity reversed its three-day-old decision to cut off grants to Planned Parenthood on Friday. “We want to apologize to the American public for recent decisions that cast doubt upon our commitment to our mission of saving women’s lives,” Brinker said. “The events of this week have been deeply unsettling for our supporters, partners and friends and all of us at Susan G. Komen.” Planned Parenthood announced Tuesday that it would no longer be receiving about $680,000 from the Susan G. Egyptian kidnappers free American tourists as more violence erupts
Two American tourists kidnapped earlier Friday in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula were freed, AFP reported, citing security sources, as a new wave of violence hits the country. The two American women and their local guide were taken by Bedouin gunmen who held up their bus and also stole watches, cell phones and cash. They were held for several hours before being released. The Americans, who were aged 60 and 65, were heading back from St. Catherine’s Monastery, at the foot of Mount Sinai, to the Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh when the ambush occurred, FOX News Channel reported. Bronx ADA who allegedly had drunk-driving cases fixed axed from job
The Bronx prosecutor who allegedly had two drunken-driving cases fixed by cops has been terminated by the DA’s office, officials said today. Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Troiano was fired Jan. 13, according to a spokesman for the DA’s office. Troiano, 34, was charged with misdemeanor reckless driving and DUI in a three-car pileup on the Major Deegan Expressway in August 2010, there was no allegation in the criminal complaint that she had caused the accident.
