Midville Man Busted For Street Attack

Police collared a Middle Village man who allegedly physically attacked his girlfriend during an apparent dispute at a neighborhood intersection last Tuesday night, Feb. 28.

Law enforcement sources identified the man as 44-year-old David Vittor of 67th Street.

According to information provided by the Queens District Attoryear ney’s office, the incident took place at around 11:20 p.m. last Tuesday at the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and 80th Street.

Reportedly, Vittor choked his 39- old girlfriend with his hands, then punched her several times in the face, causing swelling, bleeding and bruising.

As the victim was being choked, law enforcement sources said, Vittor allegedly tried to push her into the passenger side of his vehicle.

Members of the 104th Precinct reportedly arrived at the scene moments later and stopped the attack. The victim was brought to a local hospital for treatment.

Following questioning, Vittor was taken into custody by P.O. Raymond Nappi and charged with third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, unlawful imprisonment and harassment.

Court records noted that the suspect was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court the following day, Wednesday, Feb. 29, before Judge Michael Yavinsky, who released him on his own recognizance.

Vittor is scheduled to return to court on Apr. 2.
