Hit-and-run accident kills pedestrian

A pedestrian was struck and killed in Flushing in a hit-and-run accident, according to police.

A 65-year-old man was crossing 45th Avenue at the intersection of 149th Street at approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 8 when an SUV traveling southbound fatally hit him, police said.

The vehicle fled the scene, according to authorities.

The victim was taken to New York Hospital Queens, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
