City’s 9-1-1 System Still Prone To Human Errors, Final Report Finds

As expected, the final report on the city’s newly revamped 911 system highlights a pattern of delays and errors. Mayor Michael Bloomberg released an edited version of the controversial report Friday. It says operators waste time repeating questions and use inconsistent questioning procedures.

There have also been instances where the system sent responders to the wrong address and slowed down fire and medical dispatchers to give instructions to callers. [NY1]
