Man caught in connection with two crimes: Brown

RIDGEWOOD — An 18-year-old man was charged with attempted murder, assault and robbery in two separate incidents in the western Queens neighborhood, according to a criminal complaint from the Queens district attorney.

On April 22 at about 12:30 a.m., Geremia Ramirez, of 17-07 Madison St., was at a party where a fight broke out, the complaint said.

A man told police that when he tried to exit the house where the party was taking place, near the corner of Wyckoff Avenue and Weirfield Street, Ramirez blocked the front doorway holding a gun, the complaint said.

Ramirez pointed the gun at the man and said, “This is for you,” according to the DA.

The man told police he ran out of the back door and around to the front of the house when Ramirez shot him in the side, the complaint said.

The man collapsed onto the ground and was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery, according to the complaint.

Nearly a year before, on July 3, Ramirez and another man beat and robbed a man as he was getting out of his car, the DA said.

The man pulled into his garage near the corner of Bleecker and Onderdonk avenues and, when he got out of the car, Ramirez punched him in the head until the man fell to the ground, the complaint said.

Ramirez emptied the man’s pockets, which contained cash, including eight $2 bills, the DA said.
