Three local Girl Scouts who previously received the Gold Award, the highest honor the Girl Scouts of America can bestow upon a member, were recognized with citations from Assemblyman Mike Miller. The awards were presented to the scouts for successfully carrying out community improvement projects. The honorees included Rachel Malken, a junior at LaGuardia High School of Music and Art who planned variety shows at senior centers; and Victoria Santos and Kirsten O’Sullivan, juniors at Forest Hills High School who created crafts and gifts for the elderly and homebound. Miller is shown with the three scouts during the citation presentation at his Woodhaven office.
