Metro Baseball Pulls Off Win Over Rosario Construction
Metro Baseball Magazine topped Rosario Construction 8-7 in a back-and-forth affair on June 5.
Metro took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory. Theyscored on an RBI double by John O’Rourke, bringing home Sebastion Riviera.
Riviera put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for Metro. He doubled in the first and third innings and tripled in the fourth inning. Luis Torres got the win for Metro. He allowed three runs over three innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered two hits.
Metro was sparked by Riviera and O’Rourke, who teamed up for six hits and four RBIs.
The top of the first saw Rosario Construction take an early lead, 2-0. Rosario Construction got things going when Jack singled. Lucas doubled, bringing home John and Jack. After a quick strike from Rosario Construction, Metro responded with wo runs in the first. Metro scored on a groundout by Mike Urbano and an error.
Metro brought home two runs in the third inning, and matched that run total in the fourth. In the third, Metro scored on an RBI single by O’Rourke, scoring Riviera.
Metro quickly matched Rosario Construction’s strong inning with a two-run inning of its own in the fourth. Metro scored on an RBI triple by Riviera and an RBI single by O’Rourke.
After posting one run in the fifth, Metro again scored one in the sixth. In the fifth, Metro scored on an RBI single by Tyler Fricano, bringing home Torres.
Rosario Construction tied the game in the sixth on a two-run single by Frank that scored Jack and Lucas.
