Seeking Clues In Elmhurst Killing

Detectives are looking for the suspect who stabbed a Bronx woman and left her for dead inside an Elmhurst apartment building on Monday night, June 11, police reported.

The victim, identified by law enforcement sources as 33-year-old Luz Paulino of the Bronx, succumbed to her injuries at Elmhurst Hospital Center.

Reportedly, Paulino was discovered with multiple stab wounds in the hallway on the seventh floor of an apartment house on Hampton Street near Baxter Avenue at around 8:50 p.m. Monday evening.

Published reports indicated that the victim’s ex-husband lives in the same building, but as of press time, police have not identified a suspect in the slaying.

Members of the 110th Precinct responded to the scene along with EMS units. Paulino was transported to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Despite a search of the surrounding area and a preliminary investigation, it was noted, no immediate arrests were made. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
