Abandoned newborn found outside Queens housing complex

Late last night a newborn was found abandoned outside the Woodside Houses near Broadway and 51^st Street, said police.

According to the NYPD, around 11:30 p.m. Sunday a woman found the baby, just a few hours old, lying in the grass near the housing complex and called 911. When authorities arrived, they found the female child in stable condition and she was transported to Elmhurst Hospital.

The identity of the baby and her parents are still unknown.
