Unknown Suspect Wanted For Murder

What started as a brawl outside a billiards hall in Richmond Hill early last Saturday morning, Oct. 6, ended with bloodshed when one of the combatants pulled out a gun and opened fire, killing one man and injuring another, police reported.

Law enforcement sources said 21- year-old Michael Tineo of Elton Street in Cypress Hills died at a local hospital after being shot in the back. A 17-year-old man who was reportedly shot in the torso was hospitalized in stable condition.

Authorities said the shooting took place at around 2:25 a.m. last Saturday near a pool hall in the vicinity of Jamaica Avenue and 102nd Street.

Police said the shooting victims were involved in an apparent verbal dispute with unidentified individuals. The argument reportedly turned physical when an unknown suspect fired several gunshots.

Members of the 102nd Precinct and EMS units responded to the location after receiving a 911 call regarding shots fired. Upon their arrival, they reportedly found Tineo and the 17-year-old man injured and on the ground.

Paramedics brought both victims to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. Tineo was pronounced dead later that morning from his injuries, while the 17-year-old man was listed in stable condition.

Various police units canvassed the surrounding area for suspects involved in the shooting; no immediate arrests were made despite their efforts, law enforcement sources stated.

The case was presented to the 102nd Precinct Detective Squad for further investigation, police said.
