Phony Utility Worker Wanted for Break-ins

The man in this mugshot is wanted by police in connection with 18 burglaries across four of the five boroughs dating back to February 2012, many of which occurred in Queens. In most of the incidents, law enforcement sources said, the suspect-while posing as a utility worker- engaged residents of a home in conversation. While he distracted the victims, authorities noted, two or three other individuals gained access into the victims’ homes and stole valuables. The incidents in the pattern include a burglary on Jan. 19, 2013 at 9 a.m. in the confines of the Ridgewood based 104th Precinct; a break-in on Apr. 3 at 4 p.m. in the confines of the Forest Hills-based 112th Precinct; and a burglary on Apr. 29 at 2 p.m. in the confines of the Long Island City-based 108th Precinct.
