JENNIE A. GYURISKO (nee LARTO) died on Wednesday, January 15, in Orlando, Fla. at the age of 83. She
was born March 16, 1930 in New York, NY to the late Louis and Anna Larto.
Jennie spent much of her early years helping raise her younger sisters and brother. She met and married
Vito Forte, who was serving in the U.S. Army, and had two children. She later married Paul Gyurisko, and
had two more children. Jennie was a Dietary Aide for the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City.
Jennie lost her sight in 2000, and lived with her daughters in New York until her oldest daughter’s untimely
death. She lived with her oldest son in Orlando, Florida for her last three years.
Before losing her sight, she was on a bowling team at the Maspeth Lanes, and enjoyed her weekly night
out with her teammates.
Jennie is survived by her sister Gloria Amato, her sister Joan Preston and her husband Robert, her brother
Louis Larto, her son Brice Gyurisko and his wife Debra, her son Corey Gyurisko and his wife Susan, her
daughter Dade Vogel and her husband Steven, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Jennie was
preceded in death by her first husband Vito Forte, and her daughter Annalynne Melemenis.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 1, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, 57-15 61st
St., Maspeth. Her remains will then be laid to rest beside her daughter in All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village.

JOSEPHINE RIZZO died on Wednesday, January 22, at the age of 83. She was the beloved wife of Joseph
Rizzo, devoted daughter of Giuseppina and the late Luciano Patinella, loving mother of Mariella Mannina and
Frank Rizzo, cherished grandmother of Alessandro, Carla, Nicholas and Danielle and dear sister of Rosa
Rizzo, Andrew Patinella, Carlo Patinella and Peter Patinella. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on
Saturday, January 25, at Our Lady of Hope Church, Middle Village, followed by entombment at St. John
Cemetery Ave Maria Garden Mausoleum, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-
27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

ROBERT J. BRUNETTI died on Sunday, January 26, at the age of 62. He was the beloved husband of
Frances, loving father of Jason and Anthony, father-in-law of Mariella and cherished grandfather of Alyssa.
He is also survived by many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered today, Thursday, January 30,
at 10:45 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, Maspeth, followed by interment at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery,
Flushing, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth.

ANA MONCAYO of South Richmond Hill died on Wednesday, January 29, at the age of 80. A native of
Ecuador, she was the wife of the late Cesar and devoted mother of Cesar ad Sandra, Carlos and Cathy, Grace
and Raymond Dale, Luis, Raul and Susana and Douglas and Damaris. She is also survived by one brother, two
sisters, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St.
Matthias Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at Linden Hill Cemetery, Ridgewood, under the direction
of George Werst Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale.

CAROL E. EICHE of Glendale died on Thursday, January 23, at the age of 79. A native of Ridgewood, she
was the wife of the late Frederich and devoted mother of Carolyn Eiche. Services were offered at Morton
Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, followed by interment at All Faiths
Cemetery, Middle Village.

JOSEPH S. MERENDINO of Port Orange, Fla. died on Thursday, January 23,
at the age of 94. A native of New York, he was the devoted brother of Patricia
Merendino Bashen, Ann Gatti-Higgenbotham and Rita Bologna. Services were
offered at St. John Cemetery Chapel, Middle Village, followed by entombment
at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Morton Funeral
Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood.

STANISLAW BACZEK of Ridgewood died on Wednesday, January 22, at the
age of 69. A native of Ostroleka, Poland, he was the beloved husband of Jadwiga
Dabkowska and devoted father of Artur Baczek and Aldona Bastek. He is also
survived by two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St.
Matthias Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery,
Farmingdale, L.I., under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood
Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood.

JOSEPHINE FITZ of Glendale died on Wednesday, January 15, at the age of
82. She was the devoted mother of Marie Ellen Mehltretter, Erika Carabello,
Doreen Fitz and Carol Marx and dear sister of Lillian Hirris. She is also survived
by four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Sacred Heart
Church, Glendale, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village,
under the direction of George Werst Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale.

CATHERINE ANN GENTILE died on Friday, January 17, at the age of 62. She
was the beloved mother of William J. Hau and cherished grandmother of Billy.
She was also a dear cousin and friend to many. Services were held on Wednesday,
January 22, at Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by
cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village.
