Parochial schools across the Times Newsweekly coverage area opened their doors to visitors on Sunday, Jan. 26, for open houses kicking off Catholic Schools Week. Being observed in dioceses across the U.S. through Jan. 31, Catholic Schools Week showcases each school’s faith-based educational programs and commitment to community service. Students and faculty members led visitors on tours of each campus. The participating schools included Notre Dame Catholic Academy of Ridgewood (Photo 1), led by Principal Maria Cuomo; St. Pancras School in Glendale (Photo 2), led by Principal Joseph Venticinque; St. Matthias School in Ridgewood (Photo 3), led by Principal Barbara Wehnes; and Glendale’s Sacred Heart School (Photo 4), led by Principal Joanne Gangi.
