Firefighters are shown working on a fire hydrant near a Ridgewood apartment house that caught fire last Wednesday night, Apr. 16, it was reported. According to Fire Department sources, the onealarm fire broke out at about 9:30 p.m. inside a residence on Madison Street near Fresh Pond Road. Responding to the scene (listed in the order of arrival) were Engine companies 291, 286, 277 and 271; Ladder companies 140, 135 and 112; Squad Co. 288; Rescue 4; and Battalions 28 and 37-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 104th Precinct and EMS units. There were no reported injuries.
