Glendale’s Zum Stammtisch restaurant had a livelier lunchtime crowd than usual last Thursday, June 26, as soccer fans packed the eatery to watch the U.S.-Germany World Cup preliminary round match. Enjoying fine food and drink, the fans watched all the action from Brazil as Germany bested the U.S. 1-0. Futbol allegiances may have been divided last Thursday, but everyone seemed to enjoy the action, as shown above. Despite the loss, the U.S. advanced to the Knockout Round, but were defeated by Belgium in extra time on Tuesday afternoon, July 1. The World Cup continues tomorrow, Friday, July 4, with quarterfinal matches.
