City Council Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer and Astoria residents recently celebrated the installation of a speed bump on 47th Street between Broadway and 34th Avenue. In an effort to reduce speeding and protect local residents, Van Bramer worked with the Department of Transportation (DOT) to expedite the installation of a speed bump along the street. Working closely with the DOT, Van Bramer has expedited the installation of traffic signals, countdown clocks, speed bumps, crosswalks, arterial slow zones as well as Neighborhood Slow Zones within the 26th District to meet the goals of Vision Zero. Van Bramer is pictured joined by Community Board 1 member Vinny Marsanico, local residents, children and seniors who live on the Astoria street.
