The Woodhaven branch of the Queens Library began holding pre-kindergarten classes Monday, Sept. 22. The library is the first in the nation to provide formal early childhood education at its libraries, using dedicated, licensed early childhood educators hired by the library for the program. The Queens Library received approval from the Department of Education to begin the program last month.
