With the new state legislative session beginning next month in Albany, Assemblywoman Margaret Markey (third from right) held a ceremonial inauguration last Friday, Dec. 5, at her Maspeth district office. Rep. Grace Meng had the honor of swearing Markey in for her ninth term in office. Various community activists and civic leaders were on hand for the occasion. Pictured from left to right are Det.
