A 29-year-old man died on Monday morning after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend, then jumped to his death from a Little Neck apartment building during a domestic dispute, according to authorities.
Sheldon McKenzie, 29, reportedly attacked his girlfriend, 24, in the living room of her home at the Monte-Excelsior complex, located at 245-20 Grand Central Pkwy. near Commonwealth Blvd., at about 9:22 a.m.
Sources familiar with the investigation said McKenzie knifed his girlfriend about her body. She managed to call her sister, who then contacted 911, and escape from the apartment.
Paramedics and officers from the 105th Precinct found the wounded victim in the lobby of the apartment house, according to police. She was transported to North Shore Hospital and was listed in stable condition with injuries not considered life-threatening.
McKenzie, meanwhile, went up to the roof of the apartment building and then jumped off, authorities said. Paramedics brought him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
An investigation is ongoing.
