Learn the benefits of medical marijuana at these educational sessions in East Elmhurst on Thursday.
Curaleaf New York, which operates dispensaries in throughout the state, will be hosting “Cannabis 101” educational sessions to help Queens patients understand the New York State Department of Health’s medical cannabis program and benefits of medical marijuana.
The sessions will take place at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott New York LaGuardia Airport on Thursday, June 28. The first session will take place at noon and the second at 5 p.m.
The event will be held ahead of Curaleaf New York’s planned opening of their new Forest Hills dispensary location later this summer.
“Medical marijuana is an important treatment option and it is vital to ensure that Queens patients suffering from cancer, chronic pain, PTSD and other qualifying conditions are aware of the benefits of medical marijuana and how it can be used in New York state,” said Michelle Bodner, CEO of PalliaTech NY, which operates dispensaries under the brand name Curaleaf New York. “Our team is excited to be opening a dispensary in Forest Hills later this summer and we hope to be a real resource for the community. We encourage patients and community members to attend these sessions to meet with our experts, ask questions and learn more about medical marijuana.”
Each session is free to attend and will be led by Kunal Patel, pharmacy manager of Curaleaf’s forthcoming Forest Hills dispensary, and Lanett Austin, Curaleaf’s community outreach manager. Information shared at the sessions will include the benefits of medical marijuana and information about medical cannabis products as well as understanding the state regulations and reviewing the steps required to enroll in the state’s medical marijuana program.
