The NYPD’s 104th Precinct and the communities it serves are sending best wishes to a longtime school crossing guard who is retiring after nearly two decades of service.

“Congratulations to our 104th Precinct School Crossing Guard Geraldine Clooney of PS/IS 128 on her retirement,” the 104th Precinct posted on X on July 8. “For 19 years Geraldine has been ensuring students arrived to and left school safely every day. Enjoy your well deserved retirement. We wish you all the best.”

PS/IS 28Q — also referred to as The Lorraine Tuzzo, Juniper Valley Elementary School — is located in Middle Village.

Local Council Member Robert Holden also wished Clooney the “best of luck” in her retirement.

“Thank you for being so dedicated to keeping our kids and families safe for all these years,” Holden said in a Facebook post.

Holden’s post generated tons of comments from locals who showered Clooney with praise.

One post called Clooney “the absolute best woman ever,” while others simply thanked Clooney for her service and congratulated her on her retirement.

“That corner will never be the same without you Geri,” wrote one Facebook user.
