Queens Theatre is hosting an exclusive two-day event, Flamenco Intimo, featuring the world-renowned Siudy Garrido Flamenco Company. Performances will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 20, at 3 p.m. Tickets start at $32.

Acclaimed dancer and choreographer Siudy Garrido leads the Siudy Garrido Flamenco Company. The Venezuelan-born, Miami-based artist is recognized as one of the world’s most captivating flamenco dancers, known for blending traditional flamenco with a modern flair. The performance will feature live music by award-winning composer and guitarist José Luis De la Paz, alongside renowned flutist Juan Parrilla.

Garrido said the audience can expect to experience a “powerful journey through flamenco choreographic styles with a mix of tradition and contemporary vision.”

“Our show has traditional flamenco. The difference is in the modern aesthetics that offer a global appeal and don’t feel too folkloric. It provides a fresh and exciting visual to audiences,” Garrido said.

She explained that Flamenco Intimo will appeal to a wide range of attendees.

“Joining me onstage will be two extraordinarily talented musicians: guitarist José Luis De la Paz and flutist Juan Parrilla, both composers who I am honored to perform with on the Queens Theatre stage, along with my dancers, who have trained with me for years. Flamenco Intimo is entertaining for the whole family, as well as for dance lovers and guitar enthusiasts alike,” Garrido said.

Taryn Sacramone, executive director of Queens Theatre, expressed enthusiasm for the performance, which also marks the start of the institution’s 36th season.

“Siudy Garrido is a mesmerizing performer whose work brings an incredible depth of emotion and artistry to the stage. Her ability to blend traditional flamenco with a modern, innovative twist will captivate audiences and leave a lasting impression. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Siudy and her world-class company to Queens Theatre. It will be an unforgettable experience, and we are honored to share this passion and energy with our community,” Sacramone said.
