Police from the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights did not have far to go to locate a senior who allegedly harassed a 12-year-old girl in broad daylight in East Elmhurst.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, a bearded older man approached a young girl as she walked along 81st Street near 31st Avenue. He grabbed her hand, but the girl managed to pull away, and was not injured during the incident, police said

Four days later, cops arrested 72-year-old Baduil Jamal, who lives on 81st Street, on the same block where he allegedly began following the youngster. He was cuffed during the afternoon of Jan. 10 and booked at the 115th Precinct, where he was charged with first-degree harassment, stalking and other related crimes, according to the NYPD.

Chilling new details emerged after Baduil was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on Saturday, Jan. 11. where he was additionally charged with menacing and endangering the welfare of a child.

According to the criminal complaint, Baduil was seen staring at the girl’s home on 81st Street on multiple occasions between Dec. 18 and Jan. 6. when he noticed her walking past his own residence on the same block. He began to follow the youngster and grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him. She escaped his clutch and ran into her home while Baduil stood and watched her. He was also seen on video surveillance standing outside the home while staring at it. Later that day, the youngster was walking past Baduil’s home and saw him gesturing to her to enter his residence, according to the criminal complaint.

Baduil was ordered to return to court on March 13, according to the Queens District Attorney’s office.
