Independence Day is a week away, and many Queens residents will be flocking to find the best seats possible to see the Macy’s Independence Day Fireworks.
Of course, Manhattan isn’t the only place for July 4 fireworks extravaganzas. If you can’t make it to the Macy’s fireworks this year, we have tracked down some alternatives where you can watch fireworks in and around Queens this summer.
Fort Totten Park, Wednesday, June 28, 6 to 9:30 p.m.
Come down for a night of fireworks and music at Fort Totten Park! From 6 to 9 p.m., a free outdoor music concert on the main Parade Grounds. At 9:15, The Grucci Fireworks Show will light up the sky to bring an end to an amazing night. This year, the show is set to a musical soundtrack synchronized to the pyrotechnics. Food trucks will be available along Weaver Road.
Astoria Park, Thursday, June 29, 7:30 p.m.
It’s time again for the Central Astoria Local Development Coalition’s 2017 Independence Celebration! This highly anticipated event is featuring a performance of the Queens Symphony, followed by the can’t-miss Grucci Fireworks Show. Bring the family and find a good seat on the Astoria Park Lawn for an unforgettable night.
Fireman’s Field, Valley Stream, Tuesday, July 4, 6:30 p.m.
Sponsored by the village and the Valley Stream Chamber of Commerce, the Village of Valley Stream will be hosting a one-of-a-kind night of fireworks and fun! Tickets are available for $8 in advance, and can be purchased at the Hendrickson Pool Facility, Village Hall or the library, or pay $10 at the door. Tickets sell out quick, so get them while you can!
Jones Beach State Park, Tuesday, July 4, 9:30 p.m.
Grab your favorite beach chair and pack yourself a cooler — Jones Beach is a great place to be for Independence Day. This year, Jones Beach State Park is hosting a fireworks show set to all of your favorite patriotic songs. Head over to Field 4 as early as you can to grab a great spot in the sand (and to avoid the dreaded Fourth of July traffic).
Citi Field, Saturday, July 15, 7:10 p.m.
It’s never too late in the summer to see fireworks! Win or lose, after watching the Mets take on the Colorado Rockies, sparklers will be set off from the stadium, which will be visible to everyone in the vicinity. If you can’t make the game and live nearby, take a peek out your window at the end of the game and watch the sky light up.
