Episcopal Health Services welcomes new leaders to enhance health outcomes in Far Rockaway

Episcopal Health Services (EHS) recently announced the addition of two key executives to its leadership team, strengthening its commitment to improving healthcare delivery and quality for the Rockaway Peninsula and surrounding communities.

Dr. Jameela Yussuf, appointed as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, brings nearly two decades of healthcare leadership from her previous roles, including Chief Medical Officer at the University Hospital of Brooklyn at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. She holds multiple degrees, including an MD from Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and an MPH from SUNY DHSU School of Public Health. In her new role, Dr. Yussuf will oversee clinical strategies, workforce planning and service expansion.

Jennifer Newburger takes on the role of Vice President and Chief Quality Officer, focusing on quality and patient safety. With extensive experience in healthcare quality management, including her recent position as Vice President of Corporate Quality Improvement at Covenant Personal Healthcare, Newburger is well-prepared to lead EHS’s initiatives for high reliability and optimal clinical outcomes.

Dr. Donald T. Morrish, CEO of Episcopal Health Services, expressed enthusiasm for the new appointments, stating, “Dr. Yussuf and Ms. Newburger are wonderful additions to EHS’ leadership team. Their expertise will be invaluable as we continue to implement our 5-year strategic plan to improve health outcomes and expand services.
