Exhibitions

“A Date with the Eight” The Queens Museum of Art, New York City Building, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens presents “A Date with the Eight” on March 14, 2-4 p.m.. in conjunction with the new exhibit, “William Glackens: A Journey from Realism to Impressionism. In the early 1900s, Glackens belonged to a group of cutting edge artists known as “The Eight.” For more information, call 592-9700.

“The Archaelogogy of Queens” In February, the Bayside Historical Society, Bldg. 208, Fort Totten, Bayside presents an exhibition of artifiacts related to pre-Colombian native habitation of the LIttle Neck Bay area. The Flushing Remonstrance Millennial Exhibit has been extended through Jan. 30 in the Flushing Library's 3rd floor, International Resource Center Gallery. This rarely seen document, signed in 1657, is the oldest document demanding religious tolerance in America. Hurry in–the document will soon be returned to the State Archives in Albany. Evening Screenings The Museum of American Moving Image announces evening screenings of international films to be shown on Saturdays and Sundays at 6:30 p.m. Featured directors include: Werner Herzog, Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese. The series starts with “My Best Friend” (1999). Directed by Herzog, this is a documentary centering around the tumultuous relationship between the director and his favorite actor, Klaus Kinski.
