Traveling Made Easy At Shea With Park And Ride

With the holiday season underway, traveling to Manhattan can be an arduous task. To alleviate the stress of holiday traffic, Park and Ride Wednesdays have come into effect through the cooperation of NYC and Company, the Mayors Office, the Department of Transportation, the Police Department and the NY State Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Park and Ride Wednesdays is a new program that provides one free four dollar MetroCard Fun Pass, good for a day of unlimited rides on the subway and bus, to all who park in the Shea Stadium Park and Ride facility on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The program is in effect until January 3, 2001.
"This program demonstrates how public and private cooperation will allow New York City to continue to grow tourism to everyones benefit," said Cristyne Lategano-Nicholas, president and CEO, NYC and Company. "On behalf of New York Citys $15.5 billion tourism industry, which grew to a record 36.7 million visitors last year, we are pleased to launch Park and Ride Wednesdays as part of our ongoing effort to make it easier to get around New York City."
