Community Star Of Queens Brian Dooley

Job: Brian Dooley took over as president of the Glendale Property Owners’ Association last week. Dooley succeeds long-time President Vito Maranzano who served as president for more than 20 years. Maranzano will not be able to serve as president for health reasons, but the organization gave him the title of President Emeritus. Dooley previously served as first vice president for the organization.
Residence: Glendale
Family: Dooley is married and has three children ages seven, five and one.
Affiliations: In addition to being president of the Glendale Property Owners’ Association, Dooley also serves on the board of the Sacred Heart Home School Association.
Most Rewarding Aspect: “I do think that it is the people you meet from the area, and it is nice to share ideas with people who care about making a difference,” Molina said.
Goals: “One of my goals for this year is to broaden the membership,” Dooley said. Although the organization currently has approximately 250 members, many of them are from the same part of Glendale, and he hopes to expand the scope of the members to all areas of the community.
Biggest Issue: “The ongoing issue is the overdevelopment in our area,” Dooley said. “We are trying to preserve the character of the neighborhood, but at the same time we realize that change is going to occur, so we are hoping we can influence that change.”
