Emanuel “Dog” Mosley, 35, who according to court documents was a drug dealer in McGriff's “Supreme Team,” was ordered held without bail last Thursday by Brooklyn federal magistrate Joan Azrack.Mosley had asked the court to set him free on bail so that he could take care of his young daughter. His trial is to begin in April.Mosley, who lives in Rockland County, is accused of using a telephone and two-way pager to arrange the murders of Eric “E. Money Bags” Smith and Troy Singleton, both alleged enemies of McGriff.Smith, an aspiring rapper, was shot on July 16, 2001 in Laurelton, while Singleton was killed on Oct. 28, 2001 in Jamaica.The actual gunmen involved in the incidents have not been indicted, but McGriff is charged with ordering the murders and Mosley and several other defendants are accused of arranging the murders and finding the hitmen who carried them out. Prosecutors, according to court documents, allege that Mosley, McGriff and the other defendants conspired to murder Smith from about Dec. 11, 1999 until he was shot in July 2001. The conspiracy to murder Singleton allegedly began on Oct. 1, 2001, the documents said.Prosecutors are awaiting a decision from U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales regarding whether or not to seek the death penalty against McGriff, Mosley and the other defendants, according to a report in the Daily News Friday.McGriff is charged with running a criminal enterprise based in south Queens and Baltimore, Md., that trafficked cocaine and heroin and engaged in murder, racketeering and money laundering.He already has completed a 10-year prison term on drug chargesReach Reporter Craig Giammona by email at news@timesledger.com or by phone at 718-229-0300 ext. 146.
