Teacher Interviews:

Meet Ms. Coleen Wong
BY BRITTANY EHRLICH
I interviewed Ms. Wong. This was not her first time being a teacher. Before this, she worked with first and second graders. Right now she teaches 4th grade. She loves working at P.S. 46. She hopes that she will work here again next year. When she has spare time Ms. Wong spends it with her family. When she retires she will spend time with her future grandchildren and write a book. As a child she wanted to be a teacher and her wish came true. Welcome to P.S. 46.

Meet Ms. Michele Greenberg
BY TIMOTHY HO
I interviewed Ms. Greenberg. She does Speech Therapy in room 307. This is her first job as a Speech Therapist. After completing her graduate practice at P.S. 46 last spring it reinforced her desire to be a school-based speech language pathologist. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to work here on Tuesdays and Thursdays this year. Ms. Greenberg loves working with all of her students and helping them improve their speech and language skills. One great thing about P.S. 46 is the large number of related service providers. Being a new therapist, she knows there is always someone there to answer any questions she may have. During the summer when she is not at work, you can usually find Ms. Greenberg sitting by the pool reading a good book.

Meet Mr. Warren Waldman
BY DANIEL LEE & KAREEM STANLEY
We interviewed Mr. Waldman, the man who serves us lunch everyday. We asked him a few questions. When we asked him if he liked his job he said, “I do like my job but I will retire in June.” Mr. Waldman said he got his first job 20 years ago. So far he has been a mail-room worker, an off-set printer, and has worked in a grocery store with his grandfather. When we asked him what his hobbies were he said he didn’t really have any. He did say that he likes to go to hockey games, and his favorite team is the New York Rangers.

Meet Mrs. Janet Elias
BY WILTON RAO
Mrs. Janet Elias is the computer teacher and technology facilitator at P.S. 46. She grew up in Bellmore, Long Island and is from a very large family that consists of five sisters and three brothers. When she was young she loved to play and fight with them. Now that they are all grown up they are all the best of friends. She has had a wide array of jobs. Her favorite one was being a Supervisor of Reservations at Trans World Airlines. She loved this job because she could fly all around the world for free. She worked there for a long time. Sadly, this corporation went out of business.
When she had her two children, she realized that she loved to teach them. She decided that she would also love to educate other children, too. She went back to school to get her teaching degree while working for the Provost at C.W. Post as the Event Coordinator. Mrs. Elias worked as a teacher in the Roslyn school district before coming to P.S. 46. Now she is teaching technology at our school. She thinks the staff and children at this school were very welcoming. She claims that teaching children is extremely rewarding. She thinks that this job is the best job on earth. She also loves this school.
In her spare time she likes to exercise and take spinning classes to keep healthy. Mrs. Elias’ favorite food is watermelon. Since she just moved to a new home, she has been spending time decorating it. She also enjoys spending time with her two children, her husband, her family and friends. Although Mrs. Elias is creative she claims she is the worst artist in the world. That’s why she loves computers. She can create her own graphics. She is very excited that technology is changing at such a fast pace and she plans on having all the students at P.S. 46 keep up with it!
