Throw Away The Key

We cannot find a word strong enough to describe the two depraved 17-year-olds in police custody and charged in a series of horrific muggings, robberies, beatings and a murder that took place in the heart of Queens, in and around Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.
Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown charged Elmhurst resident Yovamni Rivera (aka &#8220Nyquil”), 17, and Corona resident Marco Polanco, 17, on Friday, January 5, with four separate accounts of second-degree attempted murder, assault and robbery during the terror spree that began on November 20, and continued through Christmas Day.
In addition, the DA charged Rivera with killing 40-year-old Carlos Flores with a machete after he resisted Rivera's robbery attempt and then dumping Flores' body in the park's Willow Lake on December 5.
Punks, ghouls, lowlifes and scum all come to mind when you hear these degenerates claim they committed these heinous crimes in order to buy food.
Food indeed! These two miscreants were enjoying their rampage.
Savagely beating Little Neck resident Jae Woo Park so severely on Christmas Day near the Unisphere that he remains in a coma today was for food; sure it was.
This pair was hungry for blood, not food.
Throw the book at them, throw them down some stairs a few times too, and then lock them away for a very long time … LIFE seems about right. Show them the same amount of mercy that they showed their victims.
They should never be allowed to roam free again.
We cannot help but wonder where their parents and families were during their formative years. Beasts like these two punks are made not born. They learned to be cruel and heartless. They are to blame for their actions, but somewhere out there are adults who must share some of the blame and some of the guilt for these horrible crimes.
Good police work and vigilance resulted in the capture of these mad dogs and now it is up to the DA to prosecute them to fullest extent of the law. Let us pray that our legal system works and rises to the challenge of punishing Rivera and Polanco for all the crimes they so coldly committed.
Lock them up and throw away the key!
