According to police, a babysitter found her charge unconscious and unresponsive on March 11.
The child, a three-month old boy, Jonathan Padilla, was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation showed no signs of trauma. A medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
Pedestrian Struck
A 48-year-old man was struck and killed as he crossed Rockaway Boulevard on March 12.
The sedan that hit him, driven by a 19-year-old woman, had been traveling eastbound when the accident occurred. The driver stayed on the scene. The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
