Cleaning up the community

On April 21 a graffiti clean up was sponsored by The Richmond Hill Block Association (RHBA), the 102nd Precinct, Matthew Gorton of the Mayor’s Community Assistance Unit, Senator Serphin Maltese, Assemblymember Nettie Mayersohn, Assemblymember Anthony Seminerio and Councilmember Dennis Gallagher. Students from Richmond Hill High School did a very good job cleaning up the community, as did other hard-working volunteers, including Townsend Harris High School students, Simcha Waisman, Richard Dono, Ray Aviles and Lou Gazzale from the RHBA. Graffiti is indeed a crime that leads to the degradation of communities. If you see graffiti in progress call 9-1-1; if the individual is arrested and convicted you may receive a reward of up to $500. If you want to report fresh or existing graffiti you can call the RHBA 718-849-3759 or dial 3-1-1.
