Legislators laud local student artists

State Senator Serphin Maltese and Assemblymember Audrey Pheffer congratulated local students who participated in the 2007 Legislative Student Art Exhibit in Albany sponsored by the New York State Art Teachers Association. The Art Exhibition displayed the work of students in kindergarten through high school from throughout the state. The students were nominated by their art teachers and then selected by the New York State Art Teachers Association.
Students whose work was honored at the exhibit, but who were not at the event, included: Jessica Cintron, an 8th grader at M.S. 210 in Ozone Park, for “Japanese Landscape;” Peter Chariah, an 8th grader at M.S. 210, for “My Friend Michael;” Ana Orellana, a 7th grader at M.S. 210, for “A View in Time;” and Catherine Vozikis, a 5th grader at P.S. 232, for “Faux Stained Glass.”
