The family of the 4-year-old who witnessed her father fatally shot in a Forest Hills playground in late October continues to battle in court over custody of Michelle.
The paternal grandparents of Michelle continue to battle with her mother Mazoltuv Borukhova over custody. Daniel Malakov was awarded custody of his daughter after he divorced from Borukhova.
Malakov, an Ivy League educated dentist, was shot three times in the chest while bringing the girl to Annadale Playground to visit her mother. Malakov’s mother has alleged Borukhova of orchestrating a hit to get her daughter back.
Currently, Michelle is being held in foster care until a decision is reached in family court.
