Francis P. Marone

Francis P. Marone of Flushing passed away recently.
A World War II veteran, he was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Marone graduated with a master’s degree from Fordham University before being appointed chairman of the Science Department at Isaac E. Young Junior High School in New Rochelle, a position he maintained for 22 years.
He served as head usher at Sacred Heart Church.
Husband of the late Ethelreda. Father of Bernadette. Grandfather of Paul John and his wife Amanda, as well as Elizabeth and James. Great-grandfather of Sabrina and Natalie. He is also survived by his brother, Bernard J. Marone.
Arrangements were handled by the Martin A. Gleason Funeral Home in Flushing. A Mass of Christian burial was held at Sacred Heart Church in Bayside. Interment was at Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery.
