What’s the frequency Jacob?

The New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park has an Amateur Radio Club. Recently, their radio station hosted a Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) for local Boy Scout troops.
During the weekend-long event, Scouts and Leaders made contacts with such far-away lands as India, Indonesia and Japan and less exotic places, like Plano (Texas), Brooklyn and Fresh Meadows.
Shown here, Jacob, a star Scout from Troop 787 in Electchester and a licensed amateur radio operator, made his first contact of the day with Greece. Prior to the JOTA, the only international radio contact Jacob had was with England.
Rob Smith (AB2UV) who is a Committee Member in Troop 787 and Board, Member of the Hall of Science Amateur Radio Club, is already planning next years late-October JOTA.
For more information about the Amateur Radio Club, visit www.hosarc.org, or at WB2ZZO, 70cm, +5MHz offset, CTCSS 136.5Hz, whatever that means.
