During the North Shore-LIJ Cancer Survivors’ Day, more than 2,000 individuals, including many cancer survivors, were in attendance. The event was held at the Monter Cancer Center, which is located in Lake Success. The keynote speaker was former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Julia Sweeney, who has also appeared on the stage and in movies. Sweeney’s address included reading portions of her one-woman Broadway show “God Said Ha!” The award-winning show that was made into a film is about Sweeney’s own experiences with cervical cancer.
