The Center for the Women of New York (CWNY) will hold its “Coming of Age” 21st Annual Dinner on Thursday, September 25, bringing together leaders in government and business as it kicks off a conference and job fair.
The kick-off dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Sheraton LaGuardia Hotel in Flushing and the honorees include Congressmember Carolyn Maloney, Deputy Mayor Dennis Walcott and Assemblymember Catherine Nolan.
The following day, on Friday, September 26, there will be the World of Working Women Conference from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The conference will include a career fair with employers from various industries, panel discussion, workshops, a Dress for Success fashion show, raffles and a silent auction.
The cost to attend the dinner is $100 and the conference registration fee is $5.
Anyone attending the conference must bring a resume. The event is open to men and women, although it is aimed at women, according to CWNY founder and Board of Directors chair Ann Jawin.
