    The show “Twist & Shout - The Rock & Roll Generation” will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 11. The concert will feature singer/guitarist Michael Butler and his group, Stone Love. He will “perform a mosaic of music that spans through the golden years of Rock & Roll history in America and brings back nostalgic memories of the artist who made the music famous.”
    On Friday, July 25, at 8 p.m. there will be “Elwood Bunn’s Country Jubilee,” a country music barn dance. The evening will feature the music of Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, and Willie Nelson. Elwood Bunn and his band will perform. The Texas Two Step is just one of the dances that attendees will be able to learn.

    Friend Entertainment, LTD, in association with JES Entertainment, will present a concert with Little Anthony & the Imperials and Jerry “The Ice Man” Butler with Kenny Vance & the Planotones at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 26.     The 30th Annual Thunderbird American India Mid-Summer Pow Wow will be held on Friday, July 25, Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27. It is “New York City’s oldest and largest pow wow.” More than 40 Indian nations will be represented during the Pow Wow. The event will feature dance competitions, arts, crafts, jewelry and good. It will take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, noon to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $9 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. An all weekend pass for adults is $15 and an all weekend pass for children is $5.

    The exhibition “Diego Medina: Construction of Cultures” will be in display through July 14. Medina performed a residency at the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning (JCAL) and was its workspace artist during the 2008 fiscal year. He worked on the ongoing project, Construction, which was made up of images and large-scale wooden sculptures. It was “informed by the work of architects Gaston Bachelard and Luis Barragan” and “explores the potential of vernacular architecture and our daily experience of urban and domestic spaces.”

    “Meet the Mets 2008” co-author Greg Spira and “Mets by the Numbers” co-author Jon Springer will be at Flushing Library to give an author talk on Monday, July 7 at 6 p.m. The Flushing Library is located at 41-17 Main Street and can be reached by calling 718-661-1200.
    There will be a wire sculpting jewelry making workshop for adults at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 12 at the Long Island City Library, which is located at 37-44 21st Street. The workshop will be conducted by Pamela Isaac. Pre-registration is required. To contact the library, call 718-752-3700.
    Blues singer and guitarist Eddie Lee Isaac will perform at the Central Library at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 13. The Central Library is located at 89-11 Merrick Boulevard in Jamaica and can be reached by calling 718-990-0700.
    On Saturday, July 19 at 2 p.m., a slide-illustrated presentation on the history and development of Middle Village at the Middle Village Library. It will be given by the Queens Historical Society.     The history of Seaside and the Rockaways will be discussed during a talk on Monday, July 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Seaside Library. It will also include slides and will be presented by the Queens Historical Society. The Seaside Library is located at 116-15 Rockaway Beach Boulevard in Rockaway Park.     “Medication for Body, Mind and Spirit with Dr. Andrew Vidich” will be held at the Briarwood Library at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 24.     There will be a Latin guitar and Celtic concert with Christian Arffmann at the Flushing Library at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 26. The performance will feature music by composers Rafael Landestoy and Antonia Lauro and tradition Irish music. Arffmann will be joined by fiddle player Connor O’Sullivan.
