Sweet idea to help veterans

For the 13th year, Assemblymember Ann-Margaret Carrozza (pictured) will be collecting donations of cards and candy (sugar-free snacks are a plus) for hospitalized veterans at the St. Albans VA Hospital and the New York State Nursing Home at St. Albans. The deadline to make donations is Thursday, February 12. The items will be distributed on Friday, February 13. “It would mean a great deal to the hospitalized veterans if you could send cards with a message of appreciation,” said Carrozza.

If you would like to drop off gifts, simply bring them to her office at 213-33 39th Avenue, Suite 238, during normal business hours. You may also donate items at Dr. Robert Mittman’s office, which is located at 38-21 Bell Boulevard (718-423-9300).
