Assistant principal ‘hoops it up’ at school

Brooklyn is home to many talented public school administrators and, now, one who can hula-hoop.

Stacee Kopatsis was officially appointed assistant principal of P.S. 176, 1225 69th Street, at last week’s meeting of School District 20’s Community Education Council (CEC).

P.S. 176 Principal Elizabeth Culkin applauded Kopatsis’ skills as a hula-hoop expert and, of course, dedicated administrator.

“Welcome to the family,” said CEC member Stanley Ng.

“I am so honored and excited to be here this evening,” Kopatsis said. “I thank you for this truly special moment.”

Kopatsis reserved a special thank you for her two-year-old son.

“A big thank you for being so supportive of mommy,” she said. “He’s even put up with reheated spaghetti.”
