The first annual NYC Real Estate Expo will be held at The Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, October 30.
Expo executive director Anthony Kazazis explained that, for the past two years, a real estate expo was held in Queens. He said that holding it stemmed from his love of expos and networking.
Kazazis, who also does title insurance work, said that he realized if the expo was held “in the city” many more people would attend. This year, he expects the number of attendees to be triple the number that attended the expo in Queens.
Experts such as bankers, attorneys, real estate brokers, developers, mortgage companies, title insurance companies, accounts and financial planners will have exhibits during the expo. There will be more than 100 exhibitors participating.
“We have a lot to offer,” Kazazis said.
There will also be free educational seminars. Speakers include Steven Spinola of REBNY; Tom Anderson of Pensco Trust Company; Robert Knakal of Massey Knakal Realty Services; Jorge J. Lopez of Con Edison Solutions; the staff of StreetEasy; John Kazazis of ARS Abstract Ltd.; Raymond Villani of Bid on the City; Ryan Slack of Greenpearl.com; Marilyn S. Kane of Sperry Van Ness-Butler Kane Commercial Real Estate; Steve Acevedo III of HSBC Mortgage Corporation USA; Fred Swint of Wells Fargo SBA Lending; Todd R. Pajonas, Esq. of Legal 1031 Exchange Services Inc.; Edward E. Neiger, Esq. of Neiger LLP; Michael J. Romer, Esq. of Becker & Poliakoff LLP; Neil R. Weinstein, Esq. of Ingram Yuzek Gainen Carroll & Bertolotti LLP, and George Eliopoulos of MW Commercial Capital Corp.
Some of the topics that will be discussed will be “Today’s Economic Crisis and New York’s Future,” “How Current Economic Conditions are Impacting the Investment Sales Market,” and “The New Way to Buy and Sell Real Estate.”
During the expo, Kazazis said that attendees will be able to meet representatives of new companies that offer interesting products. He also said that education is an important component of the expo.
“People basically just want to go there and learn and find out what’s happening,” he said.
Next year, Kazazis said that he plans to expand the expo to a two-day event, with one day dedicated to residential real estate and the other to commercial real estate.
There is no admission fee to attend the NYC Real Estate Expo, although attendees must register online at www.nycrealestateexpo.com. More information on the expo, including a complete list of the exhibitors and seminars, is also available on the web site.
“There’s a lot of good stuff and the price is right,” Kazazis said.
The Roosevelt Hotel is located at Madison Avenue and 45th Street.
