Langston Hughes Library

The Langston Hughes Library, located at 100-01 Northern Boulevard in Corona, will hold its annual Kwanzaa celebration at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 12.

It will feature the all-female percussion group Simply Skins.

‘Saturday Sessions’

The P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center, located at 22-25 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, will hold “Saturday Sessions” from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 12.

It will feature artists Wayne Hodge and Daniel Perlin during open studios for “Rising Currents: Projects for New York’s Waterfront.”

Holiday Dinner/Concert

Bayside Historical Society

The Bayside Historical Society will hold its annual holiday dinner/concert at the castle in Fort Totten Park at 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 13.

There will be dinner, a musical performance and sing-a-long. Richard and Ronald Keil will also be honored.

Tickets cost $75 per person and must be purchased in advance by calling 718*-352-1548.

Fertile Ground

Green Space, located at 37-24 24th Street, Suite 301, in Long Island City, will present Fertile Ground at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 13.

The event is part of a monthly showcase of new dance works by emerging and established artists. This month, Meredith Clinton/Oceane McCord, Tyler Ashley, Anisha Muni, Kaoru Ikeda and Christina Briggs Winslow will be featured.

Dance Entropy Artistic Director Valerie Green will moderate a discussion following the performance.

Admission is $10.
