Help for autistic children

Quality Services for the Autistic Community (QSAC) with support from the Astoria/Long Island City Kiwanis Club distributed toys, clothes, games and food to 77 of its neediest families.

Major contributors to the drive included Paul Vallone (standing, fifth from right), Vallone & Vallone, LLP; QSAC board of directors second vice president Paul Halvatzis (standing, sixth from right), Amorelli Realty; and Tony Siano of Stutzmann & Sons.

The successful toy drive followed a turkey and canned food drive organized by the Kiwanis members in November.

QSAC, an award-winning agency dedicated specifically to autism, provides comprehensive services and programs to individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and their families in New York City and Long Island.

Founded in 1978, QSAC now has 21 facilities in Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens and Nassau County. More than 2,000 people benefit yearly from its programs, including about 894 individuals who receive direct services. – Pete Davis
