Now, thanks to Pfizer, the maker of Viagra, erectile dysfunction (ED) has become the topic of jokes and dinner table conversations.
In a way, this is a good thing – not impotence, but the conversation.
For years, impotence was a source of shame and fear. People wrote this sort of a problem off to stress or performance anxiety. It has been the butt of jokes for television comedies and plays, dating back to before Shakespeare.
