Anthony Testani and Irene Kalimeris are in the thick – or should we say the thinning – of it.
The pair is being trained for 12 weeks – at no cost – by Jordan Schneider, founder and owner of Sage Exclusive Fitness in Whitestone and a personal trainer with a degree in exercise physiology.
Both Testani and Kalimeris will be training with Schneider three times a week for 30 minutes at a time. They will also do cardio twice a week for 30 minutes.
“No matter where you are, we’ll set your workouts to your limits,” said Schneider. “For Anthony and Irene, they are both pushing to their maximum, and because of that they’re getting results.”
Kalimeris and Testani will continue training, so be sure to pick up The Queens Courier every Thursday – and go to qns.com – to track their progress.
If you would like to change your body and your life, call Schneider at 718-767-2659, go online at www.sagefit.com or visit the gym at 7-05 152nd Street in Whitestone.

“It’s definitely getting easier,” said Irene Kalimeris.
Now that she’s got more energy, she’s able to do more.
“Before I didn’t have the strength to do what he [Schneider] wanted me to do,” she said.
And this translates to outside the gym as well.
Kalimeris, who has “tons and tons of energy,” said that now even going up and down stairs is easier.
“I feel more compact, like everything is getting smaller,” said the hairdresser from Hair on 14th in Whitestone.
She notes that her clothes are looser, and her clients notice.
“They come in and say they saw me in the paper,” said Kalimeris. “I didn’t know that many people read The Queens Courier – they’re definitely supportive.”
Her favorite part of her journey?
“Knowing that I’m doing the right things for myself,” she said.
Name: ANTHONY TESTANI
Age: 37
Starting Weight: 215
Current Weight: 203.8
Height: 5’ 8”
When he started – just a few weeks ago – Anthony Testani could barely make 300 meters on the rowing machine.
Now he does 8,000 with ease.
“I feel great,” said the real estate agent. “I have so much energy and I get a lot more done at the gym. A half-hour goes by quickly.”
Even on the days when he does cardio, he said, it’s much better.
“I actually run on the treadmill,” he said.
And, to keep his weight loss on track, Testani watches his diet.
“People are telling me I look different. It’s very exciting.”
