Youngsters help
clean playground

When everyone rushed home to start their Memorial Day weekend, the students at P.S. 199 kicked off their holiday with brooms and garbage bags. That’s because fourth grade students joined Councilmember Jimmy Van Bramer to clean up the Thomas P. Noonan Playground on Greenpoint and 47th Avenues.

“What better way to celebrate Memorial Day than with a lesson about a courageous war hero paired with a community effort to clean up the park that honors him,” Van Bramer said. “The hard work and dedication of these students are a lesson to us all.”
