Second soccer match at Citi Field announced

Days after Citi Field scored with its successful inaugural soccer game, the next match at the Queens stadium has been scheduled.
Juventas FC – 27-time Italian League Champion – will face Club America, one of Mexico’s most popular soccer clubs on Tuesday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, June 7 saw Greece and Ecuador play to a tie in front of a nearly sold out Citi Field. The 39,656 in attendance were treated to world-class soccer and a festive atmosphere.

The atmosphere was produced by the Ecuadorian and Greek communities that flocked to the stadium to watch and support their national teams. With large Mexican and Italian contingents in Queens a similar spirit can be expected.
The match between Juventas and Club America is part of the Herbalife World Football Challenge, a soccer event featuring some of the biggest and best-known international clubs and teams from Major League Soccer competing in nearly a dozen cities across North America from July 13 to August 6.
Tickets will go on sale Monday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m. online at www.WorldFootballChallenge.com and 507TIXX.com, and by phone at (718) 507-TIXX. Tickets can be purchased in person starting Tuesday, June 14 at 10:00 a.m. at the Jackie Robinson Rotunda ticket windows located at Citi Field.
